San Ramon, California – Assembly Republican Leader Martin Garrick (R-Solana Beach) has announced his endorsement of San Ramon Mayor Abram Wilson in his campaign for the 15th Assembly District.

“The mess in Sacramento was created by career politicians who lack the real world experience of the private sector necessary to make the kinds of decisions required to get our state back on track,” said Garrick, who has started several successful small businesses.  “Mayor Wilson not only brings an outstanding business background, his leadership as mayor of San Ramon has been marked by prudent economic policies that have kept budgets balanced and government efficient.  Californians need leaders like Abram in Sacramento to get our economy moving.”

“Martin Garrick understands what needs to be done to keep California businesses in California,” said Wilson.  “Martin comes from the business sector and has seen how difficult it is for business to grow and create jobs with burdensome regulations and mandates and a tax scheme that makes it difficult to compete with more business-friendly states like Texas and Arizona.  I look forward to joining Martin in Sacramento, rebuilding the California economy, and bringing California’s jobs back.”

Assembly Republican Leader Garrick recently hosted an event in Sacramento to support Mayor Wilson’s bid in Assembly District 15.  He will also appear at a District Fundraiser in Walnut Creek on May 20th.  Details may be found at http://www.wilsonforassembly2010.com/events.htm

Mayor Wilson is running to restore fiscal responsibility to Sacramento.  In the City of San Ramon where he has been mayor for nearly a decade, budget reserves exceed an unprecedented 50% of the city’s budget. The State of California is currently facing a $28 billion budget shortfall.
